QLD PDC Reporting

Step 1 - Checking the Quality of your PDC data in Athena

  1. Open Athena and go to the Archive
  2. Click on the [Report] button and choose 'Custom Reports'
  3. Double click on 'QLD PDC Exception Report'
  4. Choose your report time frame (usually Monthly) and then the Month and Year
  5. Click [Run Report] to display a summary of the Patient Records that have vital PDC data missing
  6. Clicking on the value for any given row will then display a list of the Patient Records affected
  7. Clicking on a Patient Record will display that Patient's Record so that you can complete any missing information
  8. Once you have corrected any exceptions, please run the report again to confirm that all rows return a zero value
Please note: the PDC Exception Report does not identify ALL missing data, just those fields that are most likely to be missing from the required PDC data set. 

Step 2 - Exporting the PDC data from Athena

  1. Open Athena and go to the Archive
  2. Click on the [Export] button and choose PDC export for your Hospital site
  3. Once you have authenticated, select the desired birth date range for your report and click [Start]
  4. You will then be asked to choose location to export the PDC file to. Navigate to your preferred location and click [Save]
  5. If successful, a dialog box will confirm that the Export completed successfully.

Step 3 - Uploading the PDC data to QLD Health

  1. Follow this link https://external.health.qld.gov.au/ and choose [File Upload]
  2. Login using your QLD Health provided Login Name and Password
  3. Select the file for upload by clicking on the [Browse] button and navigating to where you saved the PDC file from the previous step (Please ensure your filename is in the correct format ‘FFFFYYYYMM.PDC’ (ie. 00200201302.PDC) before uploading)
  4. If successful, a dialog will confirm that your PDC file successfully uploaded (If the error 'Invalid File Extension' is displayed,  please check the file name has .PDC at the end eg. ‘FFFFYYYYMM.PDC’ (ie. 00200201302.PDC)
  5. QLD Health's DCU will return your validations as soon as the processing has been completed.
Please be aware that outstanding validations will affect the processing timeliness.

The PDC Processing Cycle
1. Submit the PDC data within 35 days after end of the reference month via SEAP.
2. PDC will load data and a validation report will be generated.
3. PDC will check the report and send report to the facility contact.
4. Facility contact is to complete the validation report prior to or with next data submission.
5. PDC are to amend these validations and load the next months data.
