Infrastructure Requirements - Overview

This article provides the infrastructure requirements for new hospitals.

Small environment (state-wide deployment)

In a small environment, K2 recommends the following number of servers.

A server as a web server to host WebConnect service and interface services (including PAS listener)

A server as a database server to host multiple database instances (production, training and test)

Large environment (Australia-wide deployment)

In a large environment, K2 recommends that each state host its own web server and a separate server to host all the necessary interface services.

A server for each state as a web server to host WebConnect service

A server as an interface server to host PAS listeners and other interface services

A server as a database server to host multiple database instances for each state (SQL clusters are supported)

For recommended server specifications, please see the following articles.
