Infrastructure Requirements - Athena Client PC's

Minimum Desktop Hardware / OS Requirements

  • Processor: The current standard PC specification within the organisation. 
  • RAM: 4GB or higher. 
  • Storage: 2GB free space required. 
  • OS: Windows 10. 
  • 32 or 64 bit supported. 
  • .Net Framework 4.6.1 required. 
  • Minimum screen resolution: 1280 x 1024 or 1920 x 1080 depending on screen ratio. 
  • Network connection to K2MS SQL database required for accessing patient information. Where records are taken offline, a connection is required for syncing prior to taking offline and to update information later.
  • Software deployed either by MS Click Once technology or MSI.

If Labour Ward and Post Delivery door functionality is required, port 4530 must be open on the web server.
 

K2MS Software (Packaged and deployed by Hospital IT)

K2MS Athena Client (either flat file, MSI or MS ClickOnce format) provided by K2MS.
Optional Secugen Hamster IV USB fingerprint reader device drivers (can be automatically installed if Microsoft Update is enabled on target PC).

In a multi-site environment, on first use the Athena client will ask for the installation location.

The Athena Client uses the following isolated storage locations:
For Users: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\IsolatedStorage
For LocalUse: C:\ProgramData\IsolatedStorage

If the user chooses the wrong location, closing the application, holding down the CTRL key and double clicking the application icon will trigger a "Would you like to remove the local storage for K2MS Athena?' message. Choosing Yes, will reset the application so that the correct installation location can be chosen.
