Infrastructure Requirements - Central Station PC / SaFERR Board
A dedicated PC providing centralised monitoring and surveillance of selected Portals. This consists of an electronic chalkboard listing rooms and admitted patient details on a large display, along with live CTG traces from those rooms on two to three smaller displays.
The Central Station is designed to be available 24/7 and this PC should not be
utilised for any other purpose. Therefore

The following decisions will need to be made
with regards Central Station:
Where will Central Station
base unit be positioned? The system
will require network connectivity and power for multiple displays.
Where will the large display
be mounted? Thought should be given
to the protection of any personal data that may be displayed on the large
display to ensure that it is not visible to the general public. Thought should also be given to how the
display connects to the PC system unit especially if the display is some
distance away.
How many CTG screens are
required? Each screen can display
up to nine live CTG traces.
What rooms should be
displayed on Central Station?
It is the organisation's responsibility to supply and install
the Central Station hardware. It is
K2MS responsibility to install and configure the Central Station software.
