Guardian Implementation Training Philosophy

Guardian Implementation Training Philosophy

The Guardian system has been designed through a series of user trials on actual labour wards. This has led to a system that is very intuitive such that midwives with no formal training have been able to successfully use the system.

Clinician ‘Ownership’

Based on our experiences, we believe that user involvement should start early in the implementation process with presentations and feedback sessions. This enables the midwives and clinical staff to gain 'ownership' and overcomes any natural resistance. Each unit is different so these sessions should also be used to examine the local work-activity system to examine how the system should best be implemented.

The training programmes we provide can be adapted to your particular needs in terms of length of course and numbers. We will establish a dedicated training system that can be used in 'hands-on' bedside training sessions lasting approximately 45 minutes for a maximum of 4 people.

System Champions

The method used on previous installations has been to train system 'champions' who become Administrator‘s of the system, such that there is always at least one present at all times in clinical practice. The training system is also available to enable staff to explore the system in their own time and show new staff who may not have received initial training by K2MS.

Training Resources

Each user attending a training session will receive a card pointing them to the online Guardian training program

One A4 ring bound manual will be provided that details all system functionality.
2 x A2 wall posters are provided & A5 swing tags are attached to each portal.
