CTG Recorder Compatibility

CTG Recorder Compatibility

A wide range of CTG machines (or fetal monitors) are in common use, with each model having differing serial interface connection requirements. Each K2MS Portal is supplied with a CTG Serial Interface Adaptor Accessory Kit to enable the K2MS Portal to be connected to a wide range of commonly used CTG recorders.

The supplied K2MS CTG Serial Adaptor Box is installed with each CTG machine. It includes an easy to fit, push-pull style connector so that the CTG machine can be disconnected from the portal and relocated to another room if required.

Supported CTG Machines

Supported CTG machines together with the appropriate adaptor cable assembly are listed in the Settings Table below. Please contact K2 Medical Systems if your CTG machine or fetal monitor is not listed; it is most likely there will be a suitable combination.

Installation Instructions

(Refer to illustration below for legend descriptions)
  1. Firmly mount the CTG Adaptor Box ( 3 ) at the rear of the CTG Machine cart and within 15cm of the CTG machine's serial port. Also ensure the main Serial Connector ( 1 ) (labelled K2 Portal) is accessible to users. A secure, fixed mounting is essential for long term reliability. (Sets of M4 screws, nuts and washers together with self-adhesive disks are included in the kit for this purpose; the most suitable method is at the installer’s discretion).
  2. Fit the appropriate Accessory Cable ( 2 ) between the CTG Adaptor Box and the CTG Machine. (If your CTG machine is not listed, please contact K2 Medical Systems for further support).
  3. Accessory Cables using CTG Adaptor Box Connector 1 ( 4 ) must have the Adaptor Box Switch ( 5 ) set as shown in the Settings Table above.
  4. Route and tidy the Accessory Cable to remove risks of accidental damage, catching, strain or wear.
