Issue / Problem

Tips to try before contacting Support

Access Issues

 

User gets message that the bedside portal “cannot connect to database”

- Check that the yellow network cable is plugged into the bedside portal and into the network wall port.

- Are other bedsides able to connect to the database?

- If unable to be recorded on the K2 system, enter the information in the paper progress notes and/ or partogram, then update the system when functioning

- Contact K2MS Support

Fingerprint scanner on bedside portal or will not recognise the user

- Check to make sure fingerprint reader window is clean and the your finger is not too wet or too dry, if this does not work, then

- Attempt to use your network password, then

- Ask a senior member of staff to re-enrol your fingerprint

- Still not functioning? Contact K2MS Support

 

Functional Issues

 

Potential bugs identified within the K2 application (not elsewhere identified above)

- Note the patient details, the workstation/portal number or location, time of event and any other relevant information

- If relevant, note the workflow leading up to the problem

- If information is unable to be recorded on system , enter information in paper progress notes and/ or partogram and update when system is functioning

- Contact your Clinical Expert and/ or K2MS Support

Bedside portal and/ or interface cables (CTG, network, power) damaged or missing

- If unable to record clinical notes on the K2 system , enter the information in the paper progress notes and/ or partogram, then update the system when functioning

- Contact your Biomedical Engineer

Clarification on functionality that currently exists in the system
